ABOUT THE EVENT
On October 30th and 31st, Team 341 Miss Daisy hosted the first Ramp Riot competition since the COVID lockdown, Ramp Riot XXI! Twenty-nine teams of students from the FIRST® Mid-Atlantic region were in attendance, and Miss Daisy had a blast competing amongst the amazing teams. We weren’t just in-person this year, we also aired an online webcast to bring the game to the spectators located beyond the walls of Wissahickon High School. Each team played incredibly and even with a limited number of members able to participate each day due to COVID restrictions, we were able to see many amazing robots in action! The skillful drivers, powerful robots, and clever strategies made it a fantastic experience to see all the components come together.
At the end of the first day of Ramp Riot, Team 2539 Krypton Cougars, Team 316 LUNATECS, and Team 1712 Dawgma won, making them champions of the 21st Ramp Riot competition. On Sunday, four teams rose to the top: Team 2539 Krypton Cougars, Team 1640 Sab-BOT-age, Team 433 Firebirds B, and Team 5407 Wolfpack. Making their way through the challenges, they became the vanquishers of the second day of Ramp Riot.

PERSONAL PROGRESS
On Saturday, we decided to test our swerve robot, built in 2019 for our off-season project. Although the robot didn’t have an intake, playing defense led our team to the top 10 during the semifinals. On Sunday we used the robot we had built in 2020 (with its brand new climber system) this time, we climbed our way through the competition making it into the finals. We appreciate the efforts of our drivers, human players, operators, and everyone else on our team’s support to make this year’s Ramp Riot competition possible!
