Our third Robot Workshop Weekend began with a leadership seminar led by Mr. Ostrow, showing the importance of leaders and followers, and the characteristics of both. With both rookies and veterans in attendance, the seminar provided a good opportunity for the team to grow together, building off the experience of the mentors and coaches in attendance.
The remainder of the weekend was packed with activities for each subteam. Throughout, there was constant CAD work being done, as well as rehab of the 2011 and 2012 machines. Both the control systems and pneumatic systems seminars consisted of a presentation by coaches followed by hands-on work, providing an understanding to new team member Greg O. that “it’s not as hard as it looks, it just takes practice.”
