Mechanical/Build
This week, massive robot build milestones have been hit. The drivetrain and lifting mechanism are just days away from completion. The mechanical sub-team is on ahead of schedule in terms of finishing the robot before build season. The “Sparky’s Robot World” robots are nearly complete, with only a few mechanical and programming kinks to fix.
Media
Media team once again worked on the vlog, taking photographs, and sorting files. As the previous vlog was a smashing success, the newest vlog was filmed and edited in a similar fashion.
Website
The website team was very productive in Week 5. Firstly, they finished the HTML presentation that will be used to train rookies in years to come. They also completed the week 4 blog and made extra visual improvements to the posts. Any mistakes or oversights have been patched up, taking the team much closer to finalizing the website.
Programming/CAD
The programming sub-team is still waiting for the robot to be completed so they can start writing the final version of the code. For CAD, even more improvements have been made to the design, such as the addition of a new lifting mechanism, and they are very close to having a fully completed design.
