San Diego Update #1

Hello friends and family!
Team 341 has successfully landed in San Diego and have been having a great time. Yesterday we ventured to SeaWorld and had an amazing time (I finally had my date with Shamu!).
Today’s practice day went well. We unpacked fairly quickly, got our pit display up, and the scouts have been working full force to learn about all the new teams that we’re meeting. All of the people here are so friendly and nice and love having us here. I even was interviewed by the CW for the 10 pm news!
In the morning we had some programming problems with our robot but quickly resolved all of them to practice in over four practice matches in the afternoon. Many teams here were having some problems with their ‘bots so we were able to practice even more.
Tomorrow is qualifying matches and Miss Daisy and her students are pumped! Updates throughout the day if all goes well – stay tuned!
San Diego Update #2

Miss Daisy has played her first match and won 70-40! We played with teams 2839 and 968 against teams 2984, 2827, and 1388.
This just in: we won our second match as well with teams 1538 and 1972 against 1527, 1332, and 1573.

Miss Daisy won her 4th match 66 to 30 with teams 812 and 2543 playing against teams 2193 2599 and 393! Yay! Our robot is performing well and it is rumored we are in 1st place!

Miss Daisy just played a difficult match against teams 2486, 1538 (Holy Cows), and 2404. We played with teams 2032 and 1011. In the end we ended up winning!
Our last match we lost again to teams 812, 1266, and 2485. We were with teams 2404 and 1527.

Miss daisy finished the day in 5th place and won the website award! Yay!

Team 341 was blooming yesterday. We went 5-2 and ended up in 5th place. We also won the “Website Excellence Award.” Congratulations to everyone who contributed, it was truly amazing. We did not only succeed on the field but off it by meeting new teams and even helping the Brazil team build their robot. Their robot, unfortunately, is stuck in Memphis and they had to build a new one here on Thursday. We ended last night with a team social at a local Mexican restaurant with teams 1538 and 968. We are looking forward to another great day.

Miss Daisy played a difficult match against teams 2543, 1159, and 1011. Our alliance partners were teams 3041 and 1572. We lost the match with a score of 48-44 and no penalties. The match got off to a rough start though after two false starts and difficulties with the field.
We have one more match pending before alliance selections at lunchtime.

Miss Daisy just won her sixth and last qualification match with a bang with a final score of 110-20. Our alliance partners were team 1622 and 2658. We were up against teams 2102, 2066, and 1348. Good job Daisy!

Miss Daisy finished the qualification matches ranked 7th. We were chosen by 4th ranked 1332 and then chose team 2543 to be our alliance partner.
Miss Daisy advanced to the semi-finals by winning both the quarter-final matches! We were up against teams 2839, 2339, and 1072.
Team 341 lost its first semi-final match to teams 968, 1622, 2599.

Miss Daisy won the second semi-final match with a score of 56-44 sending the semi-finals to a third match!

Miss Daisy, team 1332, and team 2543 won San Diego Regional 2009!!! Congratulations Daisy!!! We were up against a tough alliance of teams 1538, 1348, and 1388. To top it off, we won the regional at approximately 3:41 Pacific Time.
