The End of Build!

The past six weeks have been tiring, entertaining, productive, and sometimes frustrating, but I wouldn’t have spent them any other way. With Miss Daisy VIII officially in the hands of the trusty FedEx man, our team is exhaling an entire build season’s worth of energy and finally preparing to become reacquainted with our pillows. There is still a lot that needs to be done before our first regional competition in San Diego (yay!!!!! sunny warmth and beaches!!!) in just 2 weeks. Tools need to be packed, the pit display needs to be reassembled, spirit wear needs to be distributed, and improvements to the robot need to be brainstormed and implemented. But, at the very least, all of us Daisies can confidently and securely say that we built one heck of a machine this year. I think I can speak for our entire team when I say, regardless of competition outcome, we are proud of what we’ve done.

Build 09As a senior finishing up my fourth year in FIRST®, this is a somewhat bittersweet moment for me.  I’ve spent the past four years building great robots with amazing people, and next year I have to move on. This final build season has been the best one yet, and I can’t wait to see how it all works out. But, to avoid sounding too whiny, I’ll move on.

Team 341 owes its gratitude (and probably some of its sanity) to so many people. Of course, all of our sponsors have made this year possible. Many thanks to our amazing coaches and parent volunteers for guiding us, organizing us, and feeding us. You really can’t imagine the impact you have on our success.

So…. another one down. See everyone at competition! Good luck!!
